Lost camera...........long shot....

I had to learn the hard way about being in clubs and having stuff stolen. Had two mobile phones stolen in Charlie's Hat. First time was when I was on the dance floor and the second was a con job. I was at the bar with my mobile in my coat and under my arm when an attractive girl approached me and immediately started speaking to me in English. She claimed to be Czech and a student at Masaryk. Then two guys rocked up that she told me where Polish friends of hers and also studied there and she introduced them to me. One of them was really friendly and the other started in with the George Bush/Americanization of the world/war-mongering bit and I got a bit annoyed, cause I don't like talking politics in clubs, so I proceeded to give him a verbal dressing down and a history lesson about past regimes in Poland being quite similar. Anyway, after a bit they all went off and when I checked my coat later, my phone was missing.

The friend who lost the notebook in Metro, also had one stolen in Charlie's. He claims he was drinking a shot and the next thing he knew he woke up with his wallet, mobile and notebook gone. Swears he was drugged. He also had his notebook stolen another time in a pub, forget where and you think he would've learned after the first time, and a few days later he somehow gets contacted by a girl outside of Brno who says she has his notebook. She claimed a bar patron who owed 5000Kc for a bar tab, gave it to her to pay his bill and he could get it back from her by paying the 5000. He went to collect it and paid her, but he noticed that someone had completely cleaned it up. My guess was that they tried to sell it somehow, but couldn't because everything was in English.

Nowadays, I don't leave anything on a table, even if I'm going to the toilet and my friends are all around, I still bring my phone with me.

Good luck with the camera. I would say maybe try to scour some of the pawnshops, but the problem is there are so many in Brno.
