Almost a tradition in Brno now, in and around the courtyard of the Old Town Hall on Radnicka street, plenty of beer from the smaller regional breweries, plus lots of music from several local bands including an old friend of Expats Ivo Spyder Krizan. Starts Friday lunchtime 21/5 and continues until Saturday evening 22/5.

also, didn't Brno just pass a law that prohibits drinking in public punishable by a fine up to 1000kc? however, the mayor did tell the police to not bug the tourists.. so just talk English to them and I'm assuming they'll leave you alone

Hm In the afternoon the park

Hm
In the afternoon the park behind sady Osvobozeni was full of punks carrying 2l of beer each and there was a well known smell too...
I believe there was an event organized, there were policemen guarding the place, so I doubt there's anything illegal in having a beer in public

don't get me wrong, everyone here does it... but i heard they passed a new law... whatever.. doesn't bother me any..

Early finish

I think the concerts and festivities in the old town hall yard have to finish by 9pm max because of the noise regs. Most people had probably drunk their fill by then too!

Hi there The concert ended

Hi there

The concert ended at 8pm. Is it typical here? I went through a park near the train station later and there was no one in there.
I've only been here for 1 month, is this normal people hide that early? Or they move to the pubs and nobody is in the habbit of having a beer in the park?
