Doing business in the Czech Republic

Here it is just what we've all been waiting for..... only problem is the venue. Sad Much as I like the birthplace of Sir Jimmy Saville and those lovable Loiners ( people from Leeds don't you know Wink ) "String of beads" is a bit far for a daytrip.

Seriously Leeds is one of Brno's twin cities and a lot is done every year to maintain and improve relations.

The CEBN is an organisation which has the aim of developing business links between the UK and Central and Eastern Europe.

I'll look into the various links and see if there's anything useful for Brno based Expats Smile

"Doing Business in the Czech Republic" networking event

TUESDAY 14 JULY 2009

DLA Piper
Princes Exchange, Leeds

CEBN presents an informative seminar on
business opportunities in the Czech Republic.

Seminar to include information on the CEBN trade mission to Brno, 13 – 17 September 2009, to coincide with the MSV Engineering Fair and participation in b2fair (business matchmaking)

Small Business Owners

Just a thought but if anyone else runs a small business here in Brno what do you think about setting up a sort of Entrepreneurs evening so we can all meet each other, discuss issues and perhaps network a bit?

Survival Kit

The attached link is to the 2008 edition English language edition of the "Survival Kit" prepared for foreign investors in the Brno area. It is a joint project of several local, regional and state authorities.

It contains detailed information on all aspects of setting up and running a business in South Moravia. It also contains a number of links to useful websites with further information.

I just had a closer look at the "Survival Kit" and there is some really good stuff in it. Chapter IX is particularly good on general living in Brno. It is also available in printed form on request. The 2009 edition is in preparation for publication later in the year.

Lunch Vouchers

I am investigating lunch vouchers for my employer. They seem ubiquitous here but are a foreign concept to me. Does anyone know much about them, whether they are tax advantageous, a problem to administer etc...?? Pros and Cons of offering them?
